Florence Crittenton offers many rewarding, creative and exciting volunteer opportunities; and each and every one allows you to play an essential and personal role in improving the life of Arizona’s youth.

“When I started mentor training, I thought what a great way to help someone else. The truth is, Giovanna is the gift to me. She has shown me what I am made of and helped me to articulate my values. She has been a true blessing to both my husband and me.”

How Can I Help?

Volunteer :: Mentors

Many of the girls we serve suffer from serious abuse and neglect issues and some are pregnant or parenting. All of the girls we serve are in need of safe, healthy relationships with adults to help them heal and grow.

WINGS (Women Involved in Nurturing Girls' Self-esteem) is our highly structured mentoring program that pairs a Florence Crittenton girl with a professional woman from the local community.  These safe, healthy adult mentoring relationships give at-risk girls a new outlook on the value of education, career goals and their own sense of self-worth.

A mentor plays many roles - friend, listener, coach, teacher and caring adult. By providing a positive example, WINGS mentors help girls develop their dreams and a vision for the future, and to encourage them to realize their full potential.

Mentors are carefully recruited, screened and trained for full participation, the mentor and mentee are expected to see one another a minimum of two times per month for six months. Fingerprinting and a background check are also required.

To learn more about the WINGS program or to become a mentor, please email or call today at 602-288-4544.
